A bad, bad, day…

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Not today…today’s going okay. But yesterday. Wow. What a plain ol’, straight-up, shitty day. Let me describe it to you, follow along in workbooks at home, kids.

First, I woke up late. Not a super big deal, but I should have seen it as a sign of what was to come. So, I had to rush to get ready for work, because I had to open the shop. ( I work at a Yamaha shop, for you that don’t know). I forgot that I have to spend a little extra time with my Pug-dog because he’s decided to get himself a very nasty inner-ear infection that requires all sorts of extra maintenance. I’m rushing out of the house, managing to get out on time. I get up the road a mile or so and traffic is stopped. It seems that a semi has decided to turn over and block the road. They say it’s going to be an hour. I call in..track down someone else to open for me..blah, blah. So, I wait around…then they tell it’s going to be another hour. I’ve had enough of the sitting, so I turn around and go home. Since I’m just down the road, no big deal. Then I get home and make myself some breakfast and some coffee and watch a little Olympics, clean up a bit and then I notice that Irwin (my gecko of 10 years) needs a little water. I go and get him some and this usually gets him moving. Not this time. So a splash a little on him to see if he’s awake. Still nothing. So I reach in a touch his tail. Now, this always usually pisses him off and gets him up and moving. Nothing. :( I finally reach in and pull his tail a bit and still no movement. It’s then that I realize that my friend and companion of over 10 years of my life has died. I pick him up, prepare a nice burial place under a nice tree in the forest and return him to the earth. After this all happens, I still have to figure out a way to get to work. Because…all of the traffic and non-sense is still going on. EVENTUALLY, the road is cleared and I make it to work. I was supposed to be there at 8:30 and didn’t make it in until 1:00pm. Nice, huh? To top that off, when I get to work I notice something odd about the hood of my car. What’s happening? Oh yeah, the clear-coat is coming off. Nice Saturday, huh? I stopped and got a chicken sandwich from BK and went to sleep.

So…like I said…today is much better. ;) Just doing some simple work around the house and making some copies of some demo CD’s to hand out around the area. If you find one, you’ll get a free sample…”I Call You” from Point: is on there along with “Counterpoint:Reaction”. All for you, adoring fans.

Hope you have a great one. Talk to you soon. Oh…what do you think of the new website? Cool, huh? ;)

See ya’,
Clint

Should we worry?

there’s a big storm headed this way, or so they say. It seems that every time I look at the tracking, it’s headed a little more west and a little farther away. The meteorologists down here LOVE to make a big deal out of these storms. I’m sure it’s what keeps them up and “active” at night, if you know what I mean. Crude, I know, but still…I’m sure it’s true.
I updated our website, as I’m hoping you’ve seen. Hopefully, you like it. I’m think that we’re gearing ourselves up to move to that next level. We’re becoming more mature as a band and our sound is getting tighter. The CD is selling well, we’re getting hit up for more shows…now we just have to work on our image a little. I think the black, the weirdness, the depressive tones, work for us. After all, we are “expressing the darker views on reality”, no? :) I think so, anyway.
I’ve been watching a lot of the Olympics, too. I really love the shit out of the Olympics. It just proves to everyone that people can put aside all of their bullshit and come together and play. Why do we wait four years to do this? Why not every day? Maybe not put on the games, but at least get along with each other. It just proves that all the arguing and fighting and such is powered by the politicians and the media. Phooey on them, I say. Everyone just calm down and talk about Michael Phelps some more…then everything will be O-K.

New CD

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

not for us, but I did find a new artist that I like. It’s a singer/songwriter girl out of LA. She’s called Alu, and her new Cd just came out. I can decribe it as a mix of Poe and a Tim Burton film. Imagine that if you dare! Go pick it up..and while you’re out there in Cyberspace, buy our CD too. :) I am working on a pretty major project that I’ll post and hint at as it gets closer. The deal’s not completly closed yet, but I’ll be sure to let you know when it is.

Food: urkey rap
music: Shades of Black by the Raconteurs (great new album as well)

All sorts of goodies…
